TikTok analytics: how to see them and what to track weekly

Open TikTok Studio from your profile menu, or tiktok.com/tiktokstudio on a computer. Track profile views, watch time and traffic source, then count inquiries.

Ben Moore

The short answer (updated October 2026):

  • On your phone, tap Profile, the Menu ☰ button, TikTok Studio, then Analytics. On a computer, go to tiktok.com/tiktokstudio and pick Analytics from the sidebar.
  • For one video, tap More insights at the bottom of the post. TikTok says analytics are best on a web browser, where they split into Key metrics, Content and Followers.
  • Personal and Business accounts both get analytics, and you only ever see your own. Some metrics may need turning on first.
  • For a coach, the numbers that point at buyers are Profile views, search traffic, Average watch time and Watched full video rate. Views alone don't say who watched.
  • TikTok can't count inquiries. Every Friday, tally them by source next to your views, using the template in this post.

You've posted on TikTok for a few weeks. One video took off. Nobody has booked a call. Is it working?

The answer starts in TikTok Studio. In the app, go to Profile, then Menu, then TikTok Studio, then Analytics. On a computer, go to tiktok.com/tiktokstudio. This post shows where each number lives and what TikTok says it means. Then it gives you a Friday review that puts your views next to the one number TikTok can't show you: inquiries.

How to get to your analytics on TikTok, in the app and on desktop

TikTok analytics live in TikTok Studio. It runs in the TikTok app, in a web browser and as its own TikTok Studio app, says TikTok's Tools for creators page. Each video has its own page too.

On your phone

  1. In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.
  2. Tap the Menu ☰ button at the top, then select TikTok Studio.
  3. Tap Analytics.
  4. Tap View all at the top for the full dashboard.

For one video

Open the video from your profile and tap More insights at the bottom. That's where you check how long people watched it and how they found it. You'll use this page most.

On a computer

Go to tiktok.com/tiktokstudio, or click Upload on tiktok.com and select Analytics from the sidebar menu. On the web, analytics split into three sections you click between. TikTok describes them as "Key metrics: Account performance", "Content: Individual video metrics" and "Followers: Demographic view of your followers". The short address works too. When we checked on October 26, 2026, tiktok.com/analytics forwarded to TikTok Studio's analytics page.

Do your weekly review here if you can. TikTok itself says some features, analytics among them, "are best accessed from a web browser." A bigger screen helps when you compare ten videos at once. If you go LIVE, TikTok Studio has LIVE analytics as well, with total views, new followers, Diamonds balance and gifters.

Posting the same videos to Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn or Facebook too? CreateSocial's Analytics page puts each platform's numbers side by side, so one Friday review covers them all.

Who can see TikTok analytics, and why yours might be missing

Personal and Business accounts both get analytics. TikTok's Tools for creators page says "Creator tools are available for both Personal and Business Accounts." Many guides still tell you to switch to a Pro or Creator account first. TikTok's own 2020 analytics tutorial did say that. You don't need to now.

Nobody else sees your numbers. TikTok's analytics notice says "TikTok Analytics are provided only regarding the TikTok Account holder's own account." The free "check any account" sites in search results work from what anyone can see on a public profile, such as follower counts and likes.

If something is missing, there are three usual reasons. First, TikTok says "you may have to turn on analytics to see certain metrics." Second, "some of these features may not be available in your region yet," and certain tools need you to meet set criteria. Third, a metric can read "No data" or "N/A", and TikTok keeps a whole help article on why that happens.

Small accounts also get rougher audience numbers. The Help Center's What is Analytics page says "More followers will lead to a more accurate analysis." Whatever your size, judge a video after a few days, not the morning after. Friday is soon enough.

What each TikTok analytics metric counts, and what it tells a coach

TikTok Studio shows two layers: totals for your account, and detail for each video. The table uses TikTok's own names, with its definition in quotes wherever TikTok gives one. The third column is our call on what each one tells a coach or consultant.

Metric What it counts What it tells you Source
Views Total views of your posts Reach. Nothing yet about who watched. Help Center: Tools for creators
Net followers Followers gained, less followers lost Whether people want more of you. Slow on a new account. Help Center: Tools for creators
Likes, comments and shares The number of each on a video Read the comments themselves. One from someone with your client's problem beats 200 likes. TikTok for Developers
Profile views "The total number of profile views from users who visited through your post" The closest thing to intent on the page. Your offer lives on your profile. TikTok API for Business
Average watch time How long viewers watched a video, on average Whether the opening held them. Compare it with the video's length. TikTok newsroom
Watched full video rate "The percentage of viewers who finish watching" your video Whether they stayed for the ask at the end. TikTok API for Business
Traffic source "The places where your viewers discover" your post, such as the For You tab, the Following tab and Search Search and profile traffic come from people looking for an answer, or for you. API for Business, analytics notice
Followers A "demographic view of your followers" A rough check that your followers look like your clients. Help Center: Tools for creators

Checked against TikTok's Help Center, newsroom, developer docs and analytics notice on October 26, 2026.

For a coach, profile views and search traffic say more than views

Views tell you a video traveled. They don't tell you it reached anyone who could hire you. As I put it in my video on followers and clients: "I call this qualified attention. The goal isn't to get as many people as possible to notice you. It's to consistently get the right people to notice you." The qualified attention post makes the full case.

So judge TikTok by the people who could become clients. Four signals get you closest to them.

  • Search in a video's Traffic source means people typed a problem and found you. A leadership coach whose delegation video draws search traffic is answering a question buyers are asking.
  • Profile views from a post mean someone wanted to know who made it. That's one step from asking about your work.
  • A high Watched full video rate on a 90-second explainer means people stayed for the whole method.
  • A comment that describes the problem you solve comes from someone who might hire you. Count those yourself.

Everything else is a proxy. "Followers are not revenue. Views are not revenue. Engagement is not revenue. These are just proxies," as I say in my video on building a buyer pool. Keep an eye on them. Just don't let them pick next week's topics.

Count inquiries by source every Friday, because TikTok can't

The number that tells you TikTok is working is inquiries, and TikTok Studio has no field for it. An inquiry is anyone who asks about working with you. It might be a DM, an email, a booking or a "do you work with people like me?" in the comments.

Ask every new inquiry one question: "How did you hear about me?" Put it on your booking form and ask it on the first call. Then each Friday, count inquiries by source. TikTok, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, referrals and your email list each get a line. For TikTok, write down which video they named.

Expect TikTok to turn up in other columns. Someone watches three of your TikToks, then finds your site and emails you. Someone else mentions you to a friend, who books. Content works under your other channels, which is why content is the engine under every client channel. Asking the question is the only way you'll see it.

Then put the count next to the views. A video with 600 views and two inquiries did more for your business than one with 20,000 views and none. Make more of the first kind.

A weekly TikTok review template you can copy

Run this every Friday with the date range set to the last 7 days. Give it 20 minutes. The top half comes from TikTok Studio. The bottom half comes from your inbox and calendar.

TIKTOK REVIEW, WEEK OF OCTOBER 26
Date range: last 7 days

Profile views: 212 last week: 96
  Net followers: 140

VIDEO 1: "Three questions before you quit a job you've had 10 years"
74 sec. Views 18,400. Average watch time 9 sec.
Watched full video 6 %. Top source: For You.
Comments from people with the problem: 1. Inquiries: 0.

VIDEO 2: "How to explain a career change in one sentence"

Watched full video 31 %. Top source: Search.
Comments from people with the problem: 4. Inquiries: 2.

VIDEO 3: "What to ask before you go back to school at 45"
80 sec. Views 640. Average watch time 38 sec.
Watched full video 22 %. Top source: Profile.
Comments from people with the problem: 2. Inquiries: 1.

INQUIRIES BY SOURCE
  TikTok: 3 (videos 2 and 3) LinkedIn: 1 Referral: 1
  Calls booked: 2

DECIDE
Most inquiries: video 2. Next week: "How to explain a career
change on your LinkedIn headline" and "How to answer
'why are you leaving?' when you're changing fields."
Most views, no inquiries: video 1. It drew people curious
about quitting, not people ready to pay for help.
One change: open with the buyer's moment, not a broad question.

Read the filled-in version the way you'd read your own. Video 1 won on views and did nothing for the business. Video 2 found people searching for the exact problem the coach solves, and they watched more than half of it. Next week is more of video 2.

Put your TikTok numbers next to your other platforms

Your inquiry count covers every channel, so your views should too. If you post the same answer to TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube, the Friday question is where it landed. Copying totals out of four apps every week is how most weekly reviews stop happening.

CreateSocial's Analytics page collects followers, views, likes, comments and shares from your connected TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and Facebook accounts, in Overview, Posts, Growth and Timing tabs. Your platforms sit side by side before you open the template.

The Timing tab answers the "when" question. Its "When your posts do best" chart shows the views a typical post gets by the day and hour you posted, in your time zone, over the last 12 months. Set that against the averages in our guide to the best time to post on TikTok, then keep whichever slot your own posts prove.

Turn Friday's numbers into next week's videos

Each weak number points to one fix. Change one thing a week, so the next review can tell you whether it worked.

What you see What it usually means Try next week
Low Average watch time, most viewers gone in seconds The first line lost them A sharper opening. There are 60 to adapt in these video hook examples for coaches.
Good watch time, low Watched full video rate The video runs past its point Cut it shorter, or move the ask up. How long a TikTok can be suggests a length for each kind of coaching video.
Low views on every post Too few posts so far, or posting when your viewers are offline Post more often. Batch record a week of TikToks in one sitting and try new times.
High views, no inquiries The topic drew people who will never hire you Aim at one buyer on one bad day, as in how to get coaching clients with video.
Profile views, no inquiries Your profile doesn't give the next step Say who you help and what to do next, in the first line of your bio.
Search is a top traffic source People are looking for this topic Answer the next question on it, in the words your commenters use.

When a topic starts pulling search traffic, record the follow-up questions in one sitting. In CreateSocial, each question goes on the teleprompter as its own section. A stumble costs you one answer, and you keep the rest.

Then give it time. One good Friday proves little, and neither does one bad one. As I say in my video on getting speaking gigs, "give it three to six months before you judge it." The weekly review is how you'll know what to keep doing in month four.

How CreateSocial turns your Friday review into next week's TikToks

CreateSocial helps you build a personal brand that brings in clients, speaking gigs and customers, without content taking over your week. It learns what you know and runs the whole content week, video and written: ideas, scripts, posts, recording, editing, thumbnails and scheduling. Here is the review loop inside it.

  • Every platform's numbers in one place. Connect TikTok and your other accounts, and the Analytics page collects followers, views, likes, comments and shares for each one. New numbers usually show up within a few hours, and the Timing tab shows which days and hours work best for you.
  • Next week's ideas, built from what you know. Add your website, past videos and posts, and client stories to your knowledge base. You get 80 personalized ideas a month, each with a hook and talking points or a full script. Trending Now adds what your niche is talking about every Monday, competitor tracking brings in new posts from profiles you follow, and "Ask me first" asks you a few questions so the script tells a real story.
  • The winning format, recorded in one sitting. Record on your computer or on the iPhone app, with the teleprompter near your camera. Each answer is its own section with one-tap retakes. Dual mode frames 16:9 and 9:16 at once, so one take gives you the TikTok and a YouTube video.
  • An edit aimed at watch time. Cut the video by deleting words from its transcript. Remove Silences takes out the pauses in one click, subtitles go on in 11 styles, and TikTok safe-zone guides show where the app's buttons will cover the frame. Got a recorded webinar? Find Clips suggests the moments that stand alone, and each one becomes its own 9:16 video with subtitles.
  • Posted on its own. Schedule to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook and X, each with a caption written for that platform, and we post it for you once your accounts are connected. Want a trending sound or a collab? Tick "I'll finish this one in the app" and the video lands in your TikTok drafts at your time.
  • The same answer as a written post. Turn a TikTok that started inquiries into a LinkedIn post, an X thread, a blog post or an email to your list. Or have CreateSocial write those from your knowledge base, with no video at all.

Also in the one plan: LinkedIn carousels with PDF and PNG export, screen recording with your camera as a bubble, reaction videos in Layout or Stitch mode, green screen and virtual backgrounds with or without a real green screen, eye contact correction, B-roll from free stock video and YouTube thumbnails made from your video and photos of you.

When a number on the Analytics page raises a question, you can ask the person who built the page. I'm Ben Moore, and I built CreateSocial on my own, bootstrapped, here in Cincinnati, Ohio, so you talk to me directly. Feature requests come to me, and a lot of what customers ask for gets built. Before CreateSocial, my agency generated millions of followers and millions of dollars in revenue for its clients, and I've generated hundreds of millions of views.

It's $129 a month, or $99 a month billed annually, with no add-ons and no per-feature charges. Start your free trial and connect your TikTok before this Friday's review. Want a second pair of eyes on your numbers first? Book a free strategy call with me.

Questions people ask

How do I look at my account analytics on TikTok?

In the app, tap Profile, then the Menu button, then TikTok Studio, then Analytics. Tap View all at the top for the full dashboard. On a computer, go to tiktok.com/tiktokstudio and pick Analytics from the sidebar.

Why can't I see analytics on my TikTok?

Look in TikTok Studio, because older guides point to a Pro account switch you no longer need. TikTok says you may have to turn on analytics to see certain metrics, and that some tools are not yet available in every region. A metric can also read No data or N/A, and TikTok has a help article on why.

How do I see video analytics on TikTok?

Open the video from your profile and tap More insights at the bottom. That is where you see how long people watched it and how they found it.

Can you check TikTok analytics on a computer?

Yes, and TikTok says analytics are best accessed from a web browser. Go to tiktok.com/tiktokstudio, or click Upload on tiktok.com and pick Analytics from the sidebar.

Do you need a Business account to see TikTok analytics?

No. TikTok says its creator tools, analytics included, are available for both Personal and Business Accounts. TikTok's own 2020 tutorial said to switch to a Pro account first, which is why older guides still tell you to.

Is 20,000 views on TikTok a lot?

It depends on who watched. For a coach or consultant, a big number from people who will never hire you is worth less than a few hundred views that start two inquiries. Judge each video by the conversations it starts.

What is a good engagement rate on TikTok?

TikTok publishes no benchmark on the analytics pages we read. Compare each video with your own last ten. For a coach, the engagement that counts is a comment from someone describing the problem you solve.

Can I see someone else's TikTok analytics?

No. TikTok says its analytics cover only the account holder's own account. Sites that check any account work from public numbers such as followers and likes.
